OREO Words!

In our classroom, we are working on being able to recognize, pronounce, and spell two-letter sight words!

To learn these new words, we used..... yep!

OREOS!

How, you ask? Simple.

1. We gave each child one Oreo (already split in half)

2. We then introduced a new two-letter sight word, such as, it, is, me, be...

3. We then showed the students how to lick one side while saying the first letter "i...", and then lick the other side, "...t", then sticking the sides together while combining the letters "it".

4. Add the word to your word wall, and remind your students to always be on the lookout for their Oreo words!

Love,

Ms. Verner
